Rao - ch. 9
My Guruji (Swami Paramananda Saraswati) had re-kindled my
interest in astrology and Yogiji (Yogi Bhaskaranandji) lent
to it the effulgence and radiance of his astrological wisdom.
He called the 4th house the "esoteric" house in
the moksha (salvation) triangle, good for astrological
pursuits and allied astrolgical sciences; the 8th house was
the "occult" house which would enlarge an astrological
vision with intuitive gifts and clairvoyance.
He preferred Mithuna (Gemini), Tula (Libra),
and Kumbha (Aquarius) the intellectual rashis (air
signs) for the quick grasp of subtle astrological principles.
His second preference was Kanya lagna (Virgo ascendant)
which is Mercury's rashi.
