Jupiter and Money

We usually think of Jupiter as the primary spiritual planet
of the nine planets. Jupiter is called guru in Sanskrit,
as well as gyana karaka or significator of wisdom.
However, Jupiter, as the great benefic, is also a planet of
fortune, expansion and abundance. The houses of wealth are the
1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 11th and when these house lords combine
they produce dhana or wealth producing yogas (planetary
combinations). Jupiter is the signficator of the 2nd, 5th, 9th,
and 11th houses which is an important clue as to the primary
role that Jupiter has in the accumulation of wealth. A strongly
placed Jupiter alone can help financial prospects in the person's
life.
In addition, Jupiter's location in the chart will indicate a
potential source of income. For instance, in the following chart
notice how Jupiter is placed in the 4th house with the 4th lord,
Venus. This person has earned most of his money through real
estate which is represented by the 4th house. Another example
is Einstein's chart below which shows Jupiter placed in the
9th house. The 9th house is the house of teaching and educational
institutions. Einstein made most of his money as a University
professor. When Jupiter is the 2nd house the person could earn
well through buying and selling goods, which the 2nd house represents.
We can look at the
the signfications of the house that Jupiter is located in, rules
and/or aspects to get ideas of good financial directions for
the person. Of course, the chart should be seen as a whole to
get a comprehensive interpretation, but looking at Jupiter,
the significator of wealth, is an important consideration.
