from Jyotisha, The Super Science by K.N.
Rao - p 170-171
Earthquake prediction is the purest form of Samhita astrology
(mundane or collective astrology). All earthquake predictions
are based on eclipses and other planetary movements studied
on different charts. It is a very tough and tiring work and
still leaves so much open to doubt. The main difficulty is that,
while in the case of predictions about Indian rains during the
monsoon season I have had spectacular successes from 1982 to
1989, I can say that making an earthquake prediction is what
caused so much trepidation. I have made only two so far and
both succeeded. The prediction of January 2001 earthquake prediction
has attracted enough attention. Here is one of many in South
Indian press:
A Prediction Comes True
Deccan Chronicle 1/27/2001
It seems that that quake was fated. Astrologer K.N. Rao author
of the best selling Astrology, Destiny, and the Wheel of
Time in his forecast for 2001 had predicted the country
would face crippling natural calamities in the first fortnight
of January and also particularly after March. Rao was unfortunately
correct. He had in the past predicted Indira Gandhi's assassination
four months before it happened in 1984.
