"If planets were to be the cause of happiness or unhappiness," says the Srimad Bhagavatam (scriptural text), "how can they affect the soul which is eternal? Their (planetary) effect is only on the body which is subject to birth and death. The pain caused by planets is only on the body. The soul is beyond the effect of planets. Why then should we be angry?"

Malefic influences on the basis of which astrologers make their dire predictions and make their fortunes, do not affect the happiness of a truly spiritual person.

Spiritual persons, spiritual in deeds, conduct and thoughts, lose their body-consciousness. While others think that they are suffering, the consciousness of their own physical suffering or mental agony is the least because of their spiritual strength.
