To determine the educational direction of an individual we should look at the 2nd, 4th and 5th houses and their lords, as well as Mercury as discussed on 11/19. This should be in addition to the three main personality indicators, the ascendant and ascendant lord, Sun and Moon which are always the primary influences of one's overall character.

Notice how the ascendant lord and 4th lord, Jupiter, is hemmed in on either side by Saturn and Rahu (papa kartari yoga). Saturn (2nd lord) and Mars (5th lord) mutually aspect one another and together aspect the Sun, Moon, and Mercury, the planet of the intellect and education. Last, but not least, the Rahu/Ketu axis influences the 4th house.
