Namaste Friends,
Recently I gave a reading to a woman who shared a story that affected me very deeply. It starts out as a horrific story of an event that happened to her about twenty years ago but it had an amazing if not miraculous ending.
She has a chart with a very prominent Venus, the planet of love. Her profession is organizing weddings as well as officiating weddings as a minister. Sounds like someone very Venusian?
She was walking down a quiet country road when a car suddenly raced toward her and almost ran her over. A disheveled man pulled over, grabbed her, threw her in the car and drove off. This was already most women's worst fear, but it gets worse before it gets better.
Here is October's sidereal (Vedic) ephemeris. This gives you everything you need in order to see exactly where the planets are on any day of the month so that you can follow the transits in your own chart or oher people's charts.
Monday, October 17, there is a partial solar eclipse at 8:04 am Eastern Daylight Time (USA). Generally, eclipses are considered very auspicious times to do spiritual practices, but inauspicious for any other activity. So it is good to be careful on these days, and not engage in important new contracts or undertakings on the day of the eclipse.

I've just started a new section on my website called 'Daily Vedic Astrology' where I'll add interesting articles and tidbits on jyotish everyday (unless I'm traveling). We'll discuss Jyotish principles and sample horoscopes for the benefit of students who want to learn Vedic astrology a little at a time, everyday. Have fun learning Vedic astrology and visit often!
I've also added a feature on my homepage that shows the current Moon sign, nakshatra (lunar constellation), tithi (phase), and percentage of fullness according to the sidereal zodiac. It even shows you what the Moon looks like right now with a graphic that updates automatically!
In the Hindu tradition one of the biggest Festivals of the year is Navaratri or 9 nights of worship of the Goddess. The 10th day is called Vijaya Dashami which is the 10th day to celebrate the glories of the Goddess and her victory over negative tendencies in our mind (demons). Today is that day!! Jai Ma!!
