I have both Sandy, For me Prashara light is more convinient and easy to use. Though JHORA has more features i guess, which are helpful for advance astrologers only.

now imagine the difference when one is for commercial use and one is free of cost.

Jhora wont give you any automated predictions like the other softwares give.

You can find an inbuilt tutorial and a vedic astrology text book written by the author of the software.

I use both JHora and PL. JHora helps me in easily calculating the AL, HL, GL, SL etc and also JHora's got wide range of ayanamsas and ashtaka varga calculation options that one can experiment with.

For example, I find the ashtaka varga calculation by consolidating the houses from references very very interesting and it makes a lot of sense to me.

Here is an article on the same by Shri. P.V.R. Narasimha Rao.

please replace(dot) in the above link by . to read it.

I have used many softwares like parashar Light , J. Hora and Leostar by Futurepoint. Out of all these softwares Leostar is the best as it contains vivid aspects as well as it has accurate calculations of Jaimini Astrology,Parashari & K.P Astrology which is lacking in other softwares.

Which is the best free software out there that really has the necessary functionality to create biwheels, progressions, transit charts and the like? I'm still looking for a good one. The paid ones (Winstar, et al) are great, but who can afford hundreds of dollars just for a hobby?
