Also is it the same logic for divorce and death of spouse?

Is it different for male and female?

Venus is the ruling planet (karaka) for males while mars if for females regarding "desire".
More than one marriage or liason is usually exhibited by the house itself,the locations and position of 7th house lord,association to 7th house,aspect upon the 7th house,navamsa occupied by 7th Lord,Upapada-8th H,Jaimini dara karaka are to be referred in addition to house number 5 and 12th which relate to affairs and place of sleep respectfully.
Sometimes the moon or the sun horoscope answers better than the traditional ascendent chart.
Book,if any, may help only in the limited sense,for me,astrology is more an intuition than bookish knowledge.

Second marriage can happen in two ways.
1. The first spouse died and the person going for another marriage.
2.First spouse is alive and still want to have one more.
For second case here is the sloka available in clssics.
" Lagnendu jamithra thadeesa shukrair-
Dvideha rasyamsa gathair dwi bharyaa:
swochadikai sthairbhahu vallabha: syaal,
Kalathra gairvaa vihagairvi kalpya:"

The 7th house from Lagna or Moon is a UBHAYA RASI.
OR their navamsa lords rasi are UBHAYA rasi
OR
These bhava lords and Venus are placed in a UBHAYA rasi OR in a UBHAYA navamsa.
Further if the referred rasi lords are in UCHA etc: then you can predict more than two wifes.

Number of planets in the 7th rasi also gives an indication of the number of wifes.

Astrorao:

2nd marriage is usually indicated from
- 9H (if the first marriage was terminated by divorce)
- 2H (if the first marriage was terminated by death of spouse).

However, many astrologers consider divorce also the death of the first marriage and hence the next marriage is considered from 8th to 7th house, which is 2H. I have also seen that analysis via 2H and 2L is usually correct most of the times than by 9H/L

Also, traits of second spouse can be identified by:
Males: planets conjunct/associated with Venus
Females: Shani (karaka for second husband) and planets conjunct/associated with Shani for 3, or 3+ marriages.
