Shilpaji͵
Not sure if its off topic͵ I have Sani in the 8th house. For Sg lagna will that make him malefic?

Your shani is in the house of Moon....so it's innimicalin terms of planetary permanent relationship...however from a temporal relationships point we need to see how far is Moon from shani and the drishti's on shani....and the strnegth of shani in the dasavrag charts ( amsabala)...to be able to assess how positive or malefic shani is for the chart

In two of the above posts, rahu was in the 9th which was kumbha and vrichikas. Both are sthira lagnas, may be that is why they did not go abroad. When in a sara rasi like mesha, kataka, tula, makara, may be the result could be different.

Thanks, I myself have my rahu in the 9th, but being aspected by 7 planets which also includes jupiter. But then rahu is in kataka which is a sara rasi.
I may not be perfectly dharmic but I am not adharmic as well, I feel.

I agree here that Rahu placed in a movable signs or sara rashi like libra, cancer, capricorn can give journeys to foreign countries.

I read in this forum that rahu in the 9th is leads to dynamic, forward thinking, rebellious nature in general.
That looks positive. So we can take positives from every placement.
In fact I even read that with rahu in 9th, one can even have visits to several holy places, so not only ketu, may be rahu can also help in spirituality. May be other conditions like jupiter aspects and no malefic aspects may also help.
